“Bio-stabilized silver nanoparticles for antimicrobial applications in oralhealthcare”
Dr. Archi Ghosh holds a Ph.D. in Nanomedicine from the University of Calcutta and has completed postdoctoral research at the School of Materials Science and Nanotechnology, Jadavpur University. Her research expertise includes nanomedicine, microbiology, molecular biology, and antimicrobial therapeutics.
She has
also collaborated with the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research, Germany,
and has published research articles in reputed scientific journals.
🔬 About the Presentation
The
presentation explores the development of bio-stabilized silver nanoparticles
(AgNPs) using eco-friendly capping agents derived from natural
biomaterials, including vegetable and fruit waste extracts and biocompatible
polymers.
The study
investigates the physicochemical characteristics of the synthesized
nanoparticles and their antimicrobial activity against important oral
pathogens, including Streptococcus mutans, Lactobacillus casei,
and Actinomyces israelii.
The
research also examines the incorporation of silver nanoparticles into a
prototype mouthwash formulation, highlighting their potential application in
preventive oral healthcare.
