The International Congress on Materials Science and Nanotechnology is delighted to feature a groundbreaking presentation by Prof. Elvira Memetovna Ibragimova from the Institute of Nuclear Physics, Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences. She will be sharing her research on “Nanocrystals Produced by Nuclear Reactions in Lithium Fluoride Crystals” during her Oral Virtual Presentation at the upcoming congress in Singapore and Online (November 20–22, 2025).
ð Key Insights
from the Research:
·
Lithium Fluoride Crystals in Focus:
LiF has long been used as a neutron and thermo-luminescence dosimeter, making
it a vital material in nuclear science.
·
Innovative Experimental Approach:
Samples were irradiated under neutron flux, gamma-quanta, and electron beams to
study nuclear reactions and their role in material transformation.
·
Nanostructure Formation:
Advanced imaging revealed pyramidal micro-tracks (1–5 Ξm) and nano-hillocks
(10–300 nm) created by particle interactions.
·
Chemical and Structural Shifts:
o
Detection of impurity atoms (B, C, O, H) in irradiated crystals.
o
Emergence of new nanocrystalline phases such as LiT, LiBH2,
LiBH4, and (LiF)₂(B₂O₃)₃.
·
Scientific Impact:
This study confirms that nuclear reaction products directly contribute to nanocrystalline
phase transformation and chemical composition changes in
irradiated LiF materials.
