From AlN Films to CNT Nanostructures: Plasma Synthesis for Future Electronics

The International Congress on Materials Science and Nanotechnology (MNano 2025), scheduled for November 20–22, 2025, in Singapore & Online, is set to feature groundbreaking insights from Prof. Abdou Djouadi, University of Nantes, France. With decades of expertise in plasma methods, thin films, and nanostructures, Prof. Djouadi will deliver a Keynote In-Person Presentation on:

Use of Low Temperature Plasma Methods for Synthesis of Epitaxial Films and Nanostructures: Application to Management of III-V High Power High Frequency Devices.”

Why This Keynote Matters

Thermal management has become a critical challenge in microwave and electro-optical devices that power today’s communication systems. Prof. Djouadi’s research opens the door to innovative thin-film solutions with superior thermal and dielectric properties, paving the way for next-generation device reliability and performance.

Key Takeaways from the Presentation

·         Addressing heat dissipation challenges in high-frequency devices.

·         Exploring Aluminium Nitride (AlN) thin films as a replacement for conventional SiO₂.

·         Low-temperature (<250 °C) synthesis of epitaxial AlN films using DC magnetron sputtering.

·         High thermal conductivity (250 W.m⁻¹K⁻¹) achieved in optimized AlN/Si structures.

·         Integration of carbon nanotubes, nanowalls, and nanowires within AlN matrices.

·         Advanced deposition methods including PECVD, DC magnetron, and HiPIMS.

·         Development of novel thermal sensors for nanoscale property measurements.
